FiSH X

Since 2004, FiSH - the Festival im StadtHafen (Festival at the CityPort) - is the annual spring event of Germany's young film scene. Encompassing four parts in total, the main part of FiSH is the national contest Young Film where the best short films of youths under 27 years are shown and rated by a professional jury in public discussions. The framework programme consists of the bestowal of the Prize of Media Competence Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania; the OFF-Programme introducing the young film scene of one of the Baltic States; and a second film programme titled "Seh Sterne" ("See Stars") with new films from and about Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (M-V).
The Festival im StadtHafen encompasses four parts: The main part is the Germany-wide short film contest Young Film of the Bundesverband Deutscher Film-Autoren (National Association of German Film-Authors), BDFA. Young filmmakers under 27 years can partake in this competition with non-commercial films no longer than 30 minutes. The best films of this contest can qualify for the international film festival up-and-coming and/or the German Film Festival. Another part is the M-V-wide contest for the Prize of Media Competence Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania of the Medienanstalt M-V (Media Institute M-V), MMV, for extraordinary media pedagocial projects by schools as well as social and cultural institutions from M-V.
Third, there is the international OFF-Programme at which we are taking a look at the young film scene of one of the Baltic States. The guest country is swapped annualy. So far we have had: OFF Norge in 2009 featuring Norway OFF Eesti in 2008 featurin Estonia
OFF Danmark in 2007 featuring Denmark OFF Suomi in 2006 featuring Finland OFF Polska in 2005 featuring Poland For OFF Lietuva at 2010's FiSH X we have invited the young film scene from Lithuania.
The last programme part of FiSH is a film programme titled "Seh-Sterne" (See-Stars). Here we show films from and about M-V. FiSH Guestbook
